Not only he understands, he empathizes with them.

He has built two companies, hired and trained over 200 full time employees in the span of 3 years and made a lot of mistakes in the process which he turned into lessons that were responsible for the success he had.

Today, as a Founder and lead consultant of Unplugged Influence, Inc., Raphael and his team assist business owners identify, train and grow the core strengths of their existing team members by elevating their professional abilities to strengthen the morale and culture of the organization.

"When the landscape of purchasing ability, decision making process and platform for consumption changes, so should the mentality of the business owners. What worked five years ago, let alone 20, doesn't work today. Consumer behavior more than ever is driven by social proof and employee loyalty is at an all time low. Today's business owner must be aware, skilled and capable to solve both of these challenges. Adaptation and speed are the two most crucial ingredients for survival in the new economy." - Raphael Mavi

All Roads Lead To Marketing

In 2009 I was struggling trying to figure out how to take my business online and utilize Internet Marketing to scale my business. I came across a book called Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk. It was mind blowing and the timing couldn't be more perfect.
I met with Gary V. at the conference in NYC and had a great chat. His approach to marketing had a major influence on me, professionally and personally.

Since I've read that book and spoke with Gary, not only have I applied his methods of marketing in my own businesses but also taught them to hundreds of other business owners and entrepreneurs.

Gary V. is the Founder of Vayner Media which employs over 700 people and does over $130 million in revenue.

The Arrival

Raphael Mavi was born in the former USSR. In 1991 his grandfather gathered all his children and grandchildren and immigrated to U.S. as refugees. They came  without any money. All family members, 15 of them, lived in a two bedroom apartment in Queens, NY that their relatives were able to find for them. Raphael quickly realized that he needed to help however he could financially so on the second week of being in US, without speaking the language, he got a job at the local grocery store carrying bags. He was 12.

With his mother being the only adult working in the family, he would hold multiple jobs while attending school. After experiencing his parents’ divorce, Raphael and his brother did whatever they could to follow their mother’s advice, to get their education and stand on their own two feet.

Raphael landed his first full time position with Lockheed Martin in the field of his major, at age 19. He was the first from his peers to secure a profession of formal education before graduating college.

He doesn’t remember a day without working since the day he started carrying bags for customers at age 12. His dedication to hard work and commitment to growth always separated him among his colleagues and later assisted him in running his own company.

Mentorship

The concept of mentorship came early for Raphael. His grandfather, who was his role model at the very young age, has also indirectly become mentor...teaching and advising on life lessons which would eventually help shape his adulthood.
It wasn't until his mid 20's Raphael realized that until that point he was mentored by his grand father, and to achieve the things you never had you need to model those that have gone through what you plan on doing.

Since the time Raphael went into Direct Sales and Real Estate, the search for the right mentors hasn't stopped. It was the quickest way to achieve success, to follow in the footsteps of those who have done it.

Eventually others have started calling him their mentor for helping them either reach their financial goals or grow their careers and or business.

Today, although Raphael gets a chance to mentor hundreds of business owners, directly and indirectly, he still pursues to seek the right mentors to reach the next level of his life and business. He strongly believes there is no end to learning. Growth is never ending, and every-time you reach your goal it is important to set a new one. Mentorship is a shortcut that allows us to become the person who we were destined to be, and if mentorship can transform into coaching with accountability, that is priceless.

Core Values and Principles

Raphael Mavi's core methodology within consulting and training is built around values and principles. When working with clients, regardless of the industry, the foundation of all education and training for the decision makers as well as the rest of the team is predicated on the company's core values and principles.

What are the core values and principles of a company? They are the nonnegotiable beliefs, which are engrained in the fabrics of the organization. They are the pillars that hold up the company healthy culture. Core values and principles are practiced daily within the organization and transcend into the market place with which help consumers make their decisions.

Raphael has established his own core values within his company, Unplugged Influence, Inc. which assist them on day to day operation and contribute greatly to the sustainability of the organization. They are:

Transparency - Accountability - Teamwork - Ethics - Improvement - Respect - Ownership

Lessons In Disguise

In early 2016 I was featured on two media networks as one of the business partners for building the largest Skincare Center in New York City. With 77 full time employees, 17,300 sq. ft. of space within three stories we were the news of the town.
That was just the beginning. Fortunately, that beginning was also the beginning of the end in that business. While the networks ran our story, resumes of candidates were piling up, there was an internal battle happening between the business partners.
My role, as CMO and minority partner, was to hire and train a team to help with growing a brand. Naturally, as a CMO, I was also responsible for all the marketing. Those responsibilities were revolved around people, which was our team. Culture Development was always at the core of all my activities as a business partner.
Unfortunately, my business partners didn't see it that way. They saw employees as easily replaceable payroll collectors. I wasn't aware of their priorities while forming a partnership, because I was too focused on the potential outcome.
Once I realized that everything I have done up until that point was always based around culture development and building the right teams, I understood that I couldn't be in that business any longer with my business partners.
This was a major lesson in disguise that served as a motivating factor to start a consulting agency that will help decision makers and their teams to create the right culture within to boost morale, increase productivity, increase retention and improve sustainability.
